What to Expect / FAQ

Think of it like hiring a personal trainer who comes to you — mobile therapy that meets you where you are. We have a wide variety of settings to choose from: hiking trails, parks, libraries, co-working spaces, your barn, or the comfort of your own home, both in person and virtually. We'll find what works best for you.

What to expect

This work is experiential and grounded. We focus on what's happening in your body, your emotions, and your relational patterns — not just the story in your head.

What's the first step?
We start with a free 15-minute exploratory call. You'll share what you're navigating and what kind of setting you're drawn to (nature, equine, or virtual). We'll talk through fit, logistics, and next steps.
What does a session feel like?
A session with me feels like stepping into a space where you can finally exhale. There's room for all of you—your anger, grief, confusion, longing—without needing to tidy it up or make it make sense right away. It's both grounding and alive. We slow things down, get curious about what's really happening beneath the surface, and gently bring awareness to the patterns, emotions, and parts of you that are asking to be seen. At the same time, there's movement—moments of insight, release, even unexpected lightness or humor. You're not analyzed or "fixed." You're met. Challenged when it matters, supported when it's hard, and guided back to yourself—so you leave feeling clearer, more connected, and more like you again.
Do I have to be in crisis to do this work?
No. Many clients come because they're functioning on the outside but feel disconnected, reactive, or stuck in loops inside. You don't have to wait until it gets worse. That said, if you are in crisis — this is also a safe space to reach out. I know that when things escalate, it can feel like there aren't a lot of options or places to turn. Please reach out. If I'm the right fit to support you through it, I will. And if what you need falls outside my scope, I'll do my best to connect you with someone who can help.
How long will I need to come?
It varies. Some people come for a handful of sessions to move through a specific transition. Others stay longer for deeper pattern work and integration. We'll check in regularly and adjust as you grow.

Choosing your setting

Where we meet matters. On your exploratory call, we'll talk through the options and find a place that feels comfortable, confidential, and appropriate for the work we'll be doing together.

What does a nature therapy session look like?
We'll begin our first session somewhere private and comfortable — a library meeting room, co-working space, your home, or a similar setting. This gives us space to get familiar with each other and create a plan for the work we'll do together. From there, we move outdoors — on a trail, in open space, or in a natural setting that feels right for you. Sessions are 90 minutes and focus on what's present in your body and emotions, using the natural environment as a grounding anchor. There's no agenda to perform or get it right — just space to slow down, notice, and move through what's been stuck.
Do I need to be fit to do nature-based therapy?
Not at all. Nature-based sessions are not about physical challenge or endurance — they're about presence. We move at a pace that works for your body. Whether that's a gentle walk, sitting on a bench in a park, or simply standing in an open space, what matters is that you feel at ease in the environment. We'll choose a location and pace that's right for you, and you're always welcome to let me know what feels comfortable.
What happens in an equine-partnered session?
I travel to you and work with your horse as an active partner in the session. All sessions are ground-based (no riding) — your horse acts as a present, responsive partner, often reflecting what's happening beneath the surface. You'll be guided through experiential exercises that support awareness, regulation, and relational change. Many clients find that this work also deepens the bond and trust between them and their horse. Horses should be older than 5 and have solid ground manners. We'll confirm logistics on your consult call.
What if the weather is bad?
We can decide together if we'll meet in person or move to virtual, keeping safety the number one priority.

Logistics & practical questions

Where do you meet for in-person sessions?
In-person sessions can happen in nature (trails/open space), at libraries or coworking spaces, and sometimes at ranch locations depending on the session type. I also travel for equine sessions with your horse.
What payment do you accept?
I accept self-pay and Colorado Medicaid. I can also provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and I can help you navigate that process.
What does it cost?
Individual sessions start at $195. Nature-based sessions are $250 (90 minutes) and equine sessions are $325 (90 minutes). Discount packages may be available — reach out and we'll find what fits.
Do you offer sliding scale?
Not at this time.
How does payment work?
Due to the nature of travel and scheduling, payment is due at the time of booking. This ensures your session is confirmed and your time is held. If you need to cancel, I require at least 48 hours' notice for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session are non-refundable.

Safety & consent

Your emotional and physical safety matter here. This work is consent-based, paced, and grounded in care.

How do you handle safety with horses?
You'll receive a safety demo at each session, and waivers are required. I carry malpractice and general liability insurance for equine sessions.
What if I have trauma history?
You're welcome here. We'll go at a pace that supports your nervous system. You're always in charge, and we'll focus on building safety, regulation, and trust.

Still unsure? Let's talk it through.

On a free 15-minute call, I'll answer any questions you have, we'll clarify what you're wanting, what you've tried, and what kind of support would feel most helpful right now.
